Parnell, one of Auckland's oldest suburbs, mixes Victorian villas with galleries and boutiques. Britomart, once a reclaimed waterfront precinct of modest ambition, has become the city's most architecturally coherent quarter, its restored Edwardian buildings now housing some of the country's better restaurants and bars.
