Prado Museum

The Prado Museum stands as one of the foremost art museums in the world, occupying a neoclassical building on the Paseo del Prado in central Madrid. Designed by Juan de Villanueva and inaugurated in 1819, it was originally conceived as a natural history museum before becoming the permanent home of the Spanish royal art collection.
