À propos du lieu

À propos de ce lieu

HMS Belfast is a Second World War cruiser permanently moored on the River Thames in London, between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. Launched in 1938 and commissioned into the Royal Navy in 1939, the ship served in the Arctic convoys, took part in the Battle of North Cape, and supported the D-Day landings in Normandy in 1944. She is now part of the Imperial War Museum and has been open to the public since 1971, making her one of the last surviving examples of a Royal Navy big gun armoured warship from the era.

Visitors can explore nine decks, from the engine rooms deep below the waterline to the gun turrets above, gaining a vivid sense of life aboard a working warship. The ship's position on the Thames places her directly opposite the Tower of London, offering one of the more distinctive vantage points on the river. Tickets are available for general admission to the vessel.
