科夫斯港 指南
Coffs Harbour sits roughly halfway between Sydney and Brisbane on the New South Wales mid-north coast, a position that has long made it a natural stopping point for travellers moving up and down the Pacific Highway. What keeps people here longer than a single night is harder to pin on geography alone. The town occupies a stretch of coastline where the Great Dividing Range pushes close to the sea, so the hinterland rises steeply behind the beaches, and the result is a landscape that feels unusually compressed: rainforest, farmland, and surf beach within a short drive of one another.
The harbour itself is the civic anchor, built around a small marina and breakwater that juts into the Pacific. Mutton Bird Island, connected to the mainland by the northern breakwater wall, is home to a significant wedge-tailed shearwater colony and offers a straightforward walk with open ocean views on both sides. The Jetty Strip, running along Harbour Drive near the marina precinct, is where most of the cafes and restaurants concentrate, and it has a relaxed, unhurried quality that suits the town's general character. Coffs is not a city that performs sophistication; it is genuinely casual in a way that coastal New South Wales towns tend to be when they have not been entirely overtaken by tourism.
