卡納維拉爾角 指南
卡納維拉爾角 門票指南
Few places on Earth carry the particular weight of Cape Canaveral. This narrow barrier island on Florida's Atlantic coast has been the departure point for some of the most consequential journeys in human history, from the earliest Mercury missions of the 1960s through the Apollo programme that carried astronauts to the Moon, and on to the Space Shuttle era and the commercial launches that continue to light up the night sky over Brevard County today. The name alone conjures a specific kind of awe, one rooted not in ancient monuments or centuries of accumulated culture but in the audacity of what human beings decided to attempt here, on a flat strip of land between the Indian River Lagoon and the open Atlantic.
The geography shapes everything about a visit. Cape Canaveral sits roughly midway along Florida's east coast, close enough to Orlando that many visitors combine the two, yet utterly different in atmosphere. Where Orlando is relentlessly indoor and constructed, the Cape is exposed, windswept, and industrial in the most romantic sense of that word. Launch infrastructure rises above the palmetto scrub and wetlands of the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, which shares the peninsula with the Kennedy Space Center and provides habitat for manatees, bald eagles, and loggerhead sea turtles. The juxtaposition of rocket gantries and protected wilderness is not incidental; the buffer zones required around launch facilities inadvertently preserved one of the more significant coastal ecosystems on the eastern seaboard.
