Yal Kú Park is a natural lagoon attraction near Akumal, on the Caribbean coast south of Tulum, where a sheltered inlet connects freshwater cenote springs with the sea. The result is a calm, brackish pool that supports a dense population of tropical fish, making it one of the more accessible snorkelling spots along this stretch of the Riviera Maya. The park also features a sculpture garden and hammock areas positioned over the water, giving visitors the option to spend time at the lagoon's edge without entering it.

Entry tickets are available in three tiers: standard admission covers park access only; the Yal Kú Experience adds snorkel equipment; and the Yal Kú Plus package includes snorkel equipment, a locker, towel, and a food kit with a hamburger or vegan baguette, fries, and a soft drink. Arrival and getting settled

Arrive in good time before you plan to enter the water, as you will want to collect any hired equipment and find a spot to leave your belongings. If your ticket includes a locker, make use of it to keep valuables secure while you snorkel or explore the grounds. Palapas and cabins can be hired on the day at an additional cost if you would like a shaded base.

What to bring and what is covered

Snorkel equipment is included with the Yal Kú Experience and Yal Kú Plus tickets; basic admission does not include it.
Towels are provided only with the Yal Kú Plus ticket, so bring your own if you have a different ticket type.
The Yal Kú Plus food kit covers one hamburger or vegan baguette, fries and a soft drink; all other food and drink is at your own expense.
Souvenirs and photos are available to purchase inside the park at extra cost.

During your visit

A lifeguard service is available for hire at an additional cost rather than being stationed as standard, so plan accordingly if you are snorkelling with younger or less confident swimmers.
