The Grévin Museum is one of Paris's most enduring attractions, a wax museum that has drawn visitors to the grands boulevards since it opened in 1882. Founded by journalist Arthur Meyer and caricaturist Alfred Grévin, it was conceived as a living newspaper in three dimensions, bringing the famous faces of the day to life in sculpted wax. Today the museum holds more than 200 figures spanning politics, sport, cinema, music, and history, from French presidents and Hollywood stars to global sporting icons.

Beyond the wax figures themselves, the building is a spectacle in its own right. The Palais des Mirages, a kaleidoscopic hall of mirrors originally created for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, sits within its walls alongside a Belle Époque theatre that retains much of its original gilded decoration. Entry tickets grant access to the full collection of tableaux and these remarkable interior spaces, making a visit as much about nineteenth-century Parisian architecture as it is about the celebrity figures on display.
