Sobre o local

Sobre este local

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam holds the largest collection of works by Vincent van Gogh anywhere in the world, with more than 200 paintings, 500 drawings, and 750 personal letters tracing the arc of his life from the Dutch countryside to the fields of Provence. Designed by Gerrit Rietveld and completed after his death by his colleague Preston, the main building opened in 1973 on the Museumplein, placing it alongside the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk in one of Europe's most concentrated cultural squares. A wing by Kisho Kurokawa was added in 1999 to house temporary exhibitions.

The permanent collection moves chronologically through Van Gogh's development, from his sombre early work in the Netherlands to the luminous canvases he produced in Arles and Saint-Rémy. Current experiences available through tickadoo include a semi-private guided tour combining the Van Gogh Museum with the Rijksmuseum, and a skip-the-line entry paired with a two-hour guided tour of the Van Gogh collection itself.
