About the venue

About this venue

The New Mill Water Tower stands on the bank of the Vltava River in Prague's Old Town, one of several historic water towers that once supplied the city with drinking water. The tower takes its name from the New Mill weir nearby and forms part of a cluster of medieval and early modern waterworks that shaped Prague's urban development for centuries. Its distinctive cylindrical form and riverside position make it one of the more recognisable landmarks along this stretch of the river.

Today the tower operates as a museum, offering visitors the chance to explore its interior and learn about Prague's historic water management systems. An entry ticket grants access to the tower's exhibitions, which trace the engineering and civic history behind the city's waterworks. The views from the upper levels across the Vltava and towards Prague Castle provide a perspective on the city that few other sites along the riverbank can match.
