Le Grand Rex

Le Grand Rex is Paris's most celebrated cinema and entertainment venue, a monument to Art Deco excess that has defined the grands boulevards since it opened in 1932. Designed by architect Auguste Bluysen with an auditorium inspired by an open-air Andalusian village, complete with a painted sky ceiling and ornate facades, it was classified a historic monument in 1981 and remains one of the largest and most architecturally distinctive screens in Europe.

Today the Rex offers more than film screenings. The Rex Studios experience takes visitors behind the scenes of the building itself, using special effects and interactive installations to reveal how cinema magic is made, all within the extraordinary shell of the original auditorium. The venue also hosts the Musée du Chocolat in partnership with its touring programme, combining the sensory pleasures of Parisian confectionery history with the spectacle of one of the city's great architectural landmarks.
