この会場について

The Capuchin Crypt lies beneath the Church of Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini on the Via Veneto in Rome, a short walk from the Piazza Barberini. Commissioned by Cardinal Antonio Barberini in the seventeenth century, the crypt contains the skeletal remains of approximately four thousand Capuchin friars, arranged across six small chapels in elaborate decorative patterns. The bones form arches, chandeliers, and wall mosaics, creating a space that the Capuchin order intended as a meditation on mortality rather than a spectacle. A museum adjoining the crypt opened in 2012 and presents the history and spiritual philosophy of the Franciscan Capuchin movement alongside artworks and artefacts from the order's collection.

The Roman Crypts and Catacombs Tour with Audio Guide currently available at this venue pairs the Capuchin Crypt with Rome's broader network of underground burial sites, placing this singular church interior within the longer history of Christian funerary practice in the city. The experience draws visitors seeking both the art-historical and the contemplative dimensions of one of Rome's most unusual sacred spaces.
