Informazioni su questo luogo

The Roman Forum stands at the centre of ancient Rome, occupying the low ground between the Palatine and Capitoline hills where the city's political, religious, and commercial life unfolded for more than a thousand years. Temples, basilicas, and triumphal arches line the Sacred Way, among them the Temple of Saturn, the Arch of Septimius Severus, and the House of the Vestal Virgins. Together they form one of the most significant archaeological sites in the world, drawing scholars and visitors who come to walk the same stones as senators, emperors, and ordinary Roman citizens.

The site is managed as part of the Colosseum Archaeological Park, and the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill SUPER Sites Pass grants access to both the Forum and the adjacent Palatine Hill, where Rome's earliest settlements took root and where emperors later built their grand palace complexes. Moving between the two areas gives a layered sense of how the city grew, from its mythological origins on the hilltop to the monumental civic architecture below.
