Arrival and timing

Download the app and check it works fully before you set off, as connectivity inside the site can be unreliable. The audio guide covers approximately 90 minutes of content, so factor in additional time for queuing at the entrance, rest stops, and any personal exploration beyond the marked route. Arrive in good time before you plan to start so you are not rushing through the early monuments.

Getting around the site

The app uses an offline GPS map to guide you between monuments, so the route works without a mobile data signal. Keep your phone charged and consider bringing a portable battery pack, as GPS and audio playback together drain power quickly. The site is largely open ground with uneven stone surfaces and direct sun exposure, so comfortable footwear and sun protection are advisable. Note that entry tickets are not included and must be arranged separately before you arrive.

During your visit

Use headphones for the best listening experience, as these are not provided. Photography of the monuments is generally permitted for personal use, though always follow any instructions posted at individual structures. Keep noise to a considerate level near other visitors, and be aware that climbing the pyramids and touching certain structures is restricted by site rules.
