Acerca de este lugar

Casa Amatller stands on the Passeig de Gràcia as one of the finest examples of Catalan Modernisme in Barcelona. Designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch and completed in 1900, the building was commissioned by chocolate manufacturer Antoni Amatller and blends Gothic, Flemish, and Baroque influences beneath its distinctive stepped gable facade. The interior preserves the original furnishings, photography collection, and decorative arts that the Amatller family accumulated, offering a rare glimpse into bourgeois life in turn-of-the-century Barcelona. The building sits directly beside Casa Batlló on the celebrated block known as the Manzana de la Discordia, where three rival Modernista architects each left a defining mark on the same street.

Guided tours of Casa Amatller lead visitors through the restored private apartments and explain the architectural choices that set Puig i Cadafalch apart from his contemporaries Gaudí and Domènech i Montaner. Tickets also include access to a guided tour of the neighbouring Casa Batlló with skip-the-line entry, allowing a single visit to take in two of the most significant buildings on the Passeig de Gràcia.
