The Tokyo Plastic Food Sample-Making Workshop is a hands-on workshop in Tokyo where participants craft their own replica food display pieces using the same techniques employed by Japan's plastic food sample industry. Plastic food samples, known in Japanese as one of Tokyo's most distinctive craft traditions, have been produced for restaurant window displays since the early twentieth century and are recognised for their precise, lifelike detail. The session is led by a teacher from a long-operating company in the field, who walks participants through the full process from the initial pour or mould to the arrangement of toppings and finishing details.

On arrival, guests confirm their chosen project from three options selected at booking: ramen food sample making, tart charm food sample making, or real-size parfait food sample making. The teacher opens with a demonstration of the core techniques before participants move to their prepared workspace, where all materials and tools are supplied. Each option follows a structured, step-by-step process covering shaping, decorating, and finishing, with guidance available throughout. Tickets cover the full workshop session, all materials, and use of tools, and participants leave with the completed sample they have made.
