Sobre aquest lloc

The Eiffel Tower is the defining landmark of Paris and one of the most recognised structures on earth. Designed by Gustave Eiffel and his engineering firm, it was originally constructed as the entrance arch for the 1889 Exposition Universelle, a world fair held to mark the centenary of the French Revolution. Standing at 330 metres, the iron lattice tower was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over four decades after its completion. What began as a temporary installation became a permanent fixture of the Parisian skyline, drawing millions of visitors each year to its three public floors.

Today, visitors can explore the tower through guided elevator tours that reach either the second floor or the summit, each offering a distinct perspective over the Seine, the Champ de Mars, and the rooftops of the city beyond. The second floor guided experience also takes in the surrounding Champ de Mars quarter, placing the tower within the broader history and geography of western Paris.
